Gel manicure

A gel manicure is the answer to the same complaint we hear every week: regular polish looks perfect leaving the salon and chips by Wednesday. Gel color is cured under a lamp between coats, so it hardens completely before you stand up — no smudged thumb in the car, no waiting to use your hands.

Gel is the most-requested service across every Belle Palace salon. Most guests get two to three weeks of wear before regrowth at the cuticle, rather than the polish itself, is what sends them back.

What happens

How the service runs

  1. Shape and cuticle work first

Your artist files to the shape you want — square, squoval, round or almond — then cleans and pushes back the cuticle. Gel only lasts if it sits on a properly prepared nail, so this part is never rushed.

  2. Base, color, top — cured between coats

A base coat is cured, then two thin color coats, then the top coat. Thin coats matter: a thick coat cures unevenly on the inside and is the usual reason a gel manicure peels early.

  3. Cuticle oil and a check under the light

The finish is inspected from every angle before you leave the chair. If a free edge was missed or a cuticle line is uneven, we fix it there rather than sending you home with it.

Worth knowing

Making it last

  • Never peel it off

Peeling a lifted edge takes the top layers of your natural nail with it. That is what causes the thin, bendy nails people blame on gel. Come in for a soak-off removal instead — it takes about fifteen minutes.

  • Oil the cuticle daily

Gel is rigid; your nail is not. Cuticle oil keeps the nail plate flexible underneath the gel so the two move together instead of separating at the edges.

  • Wear gloves for dishes and cleaning

Prolonged hot water and household cleaners are the fastest way to lift a gel edge. Gloves buy you the third week.

The ritual

Three quiet steps

Every appointment follows the same unhurried rhythm — so the result is never left to chance.

  1. Consult

Your artist looks at your nails first — length, condition, how you use your hands — then talks through shape and color. Bring a photo, or start from the seasonal wall.

  2. Prepare

Hospital-grade sterilization on every tool, every visit. Single-use files and buffers are opened in front of you, then discarded.

  3. Perfect

Unhurried detail work under proper light — clean cuticle lines, even edges, and a finish checked from every angle before you leave the chair.

Gel manicure questions

The questions guests actually ask at the front desk, answered plainly.

How long does a gel manicure last?
Most guests get two to three weeks from a gel manicure before regrowth at the cuticle becomes noticeable. The color itself usually still looks good at that point — it is the gap at the base, not chipping, that brings people back in.
Does gel polish damage your nails?
Gel itself does not damage the nail. Damage comes from removal: peeling or scraping gel off takes layers of the natural nail with it. A proper soak-off removal, which takes about fifteen minutes, leaves the nail intact.
What is the difference between gel and shellac?
Shellac is a brand name for a gel-and-polish hybrid. In practice both are cured under a lamp and both wear far longer than regular polish. We use professional gel systems and will match whatever finish you are used to.
Can I get a gel manicure without an appointment?
Same-day availability varies by branch and artist. Weekend afternoons are our busiest window, so booking ahead is the best way to hold a specific artist and a specific time. Choose the nearest salon and check its booking availability.

Your chair is ready.

Opening hours vary by branch. Walk-ins depend on availability, and weekends usually fill quickly, so booking ahead keeps the time you want.
